MOSCOW, November 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian President Dmitry Medvedev holds that the sentence passed by the Tajikistani court on pilots of a Russian air company prompts “a multitude of questions.” The head of state intends to wait for the official answer of the Tajikistani authorities, and then Moscow will take actions “which may be either symmetrical or asymmetrical.” Medvedev said this at a meeting with his supporters - representatives of network communities.

The president said he had instructed the Russian Foreign Ministry and law enforcement bodies thoroughly to analyze the circumstances of the case and to contact colleagues in Tajikistan.

Medvedev said he would not like to comment on actions of a sovereign state [Tajikistan], “but it is clear even now that the decision on this case prompts a multitude of questions as to the elements of a crime and the way the trial was conducted.”

“We will wait for the official answer and then we will make decisions which can be different - either symmetrical or asymmetrical,” the Russian president stressed.
