MOSCOW, November 9 (Itar-Tass) — Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi will able to maintain economic stability, the Kremlin’s top economic advisor, Arkady Dvorkovich, said on Wednesday.
“Berlusconi acts in the interests of the country and does his utmost to maintain Italy’s economic stability. He is a person of great political will and is ready to take steps, including those of personal nature to maintain stability,” he said.
“His government’s actions are sufficient for averting the debt crisis,” Dvorkovich said.
Berlusconi will resign as soon as the parliament passes urgent budget reforms. Soon after this President Giorgio Napolitano would hold consultations with all political parties, according to the official statement issued on Wednesday by the president’s press service after the meeting between the president and the prime minister. The voting in the lower house of parliament stripped Berlusconi’s government of a majority.
