RF, NATO ink agreement on new level of military cooperation

Russia and NATO have signed an agreement on Russia’s official transition to second level in the NATO Codification System in the sphere of export-import of military products

BRUSSELES, November 8 (Itar-Tass) — Russia and NATO have signed an agreement on Russia’s official transition to second level in the NATO Codification System in the sphere of export-import of military products, the deputy director of the federal service for military-technical cooperation, Konstantin Biryulin, told Itar-Tass on Tuesday. He signed this document on behalf of the Russian side jointly with the chief of a department of the Russian military products export agency Rosobornexport, Nikolai Nezalenov.

“It is very important for Russia to see Russian makers of military products included in the Codification System, which will make it possible for the Alliance's member-countries to buy military hardware and spare parts from original makers, and not from intermediaries,” Biryulin said.
