ST PETERSBURG, November 7 (Itar-Tass) — Russia supports the idea of creating an energy club within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at the SCO wide-format meeting on Monday.
“We support the idea of establishing an energy club,” he said.
Putin underlined that a principal decision has already been taken and at present, it is necessary to pass through an organizing stage and finalize a plan of action.
“As for the energy sector, it is necessary to take into consideration interests of producers and consumers of energy resources,” he said.
