BRICS states ready to take part in euro stabilisation efforts

BRICS countries are ready to take part in the efforts aimed at stabilising the situation in the euro zone, including by providing loans

MOSCOW, November 7 (Itar-Tass) — BRICS countries are ready to take part in the efforts aimed at stabilising the situation in the euro zone, including by providing loans, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.

“We know that the EU countries want to invite other major states to take part in the stabilisation efforts. This issue, including a possibility of providing funding to certain countries of the European Union, has been discussed these days when the leaders of BRICS countries met on the sidelines of the G-20 summit,” Lavrov said.

“There is such opportunity. Our countries will be ready to take part in the common efforts, including by providing loans through channels that exist in the IMF,” the Russian minister stressed.
