ATHENS, November 7 (Itar-Tass) —— The leadership of the main political forces in Greece came to agreement over the most suitable date for early parliamentary elections on February 19, Greek Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos said on Monday.
Earlier Greek Prime Minister Georgios Papandreou agreed with opposition leader Antonis Samaras on a new government, which Papandreou will not head. The interlocutors decided to form a new government seeking to hold early parliamentary elections right after the implementation of the October 26 euro zone summit.
The incumbent cabinet thereby did not resign, the government continues to perform its powers so far. Venizelos will go for a meeting of the European Group in Brussels, local TV channels reported. He will dwell on the formation of a government with inter-party cooperation.
