Fire breaks out at Arkhangelsk river port

The fire has spread onto more than 3,000 square meters

ARKHANGELSK. November 6 (Itar-Tass) – A fire broke out in the Arkhangelsk Zharovikha river port on Sunday. Round timber piles are ablaze, head of the Arkhangelsk regional emergency situations department Igor Grigoryev told Itar-Tass.

The fire has spread onto more than 3,000 square meters, he said. “The fire belongs to Category 3, and nearly the entire personnel of the city fire department are putting it out,” he said.

Reasons for the fire are so far unknown.
