Jetliner makes emergency landing over failure of navigation system

The signal system “Failure of navigation system” switched on while the airliner was making the Novosibirsk-Moscow flight

NOVOSIBIRSK, November 6 (Itar-Tass) — An airliner A-320 of the Ural Airlines Company made on Sunday an emergency landing at the Tolmachyovo airport in Novosibirsk over a failure of the navigation system, Itar-Tass learnt at the West-Siberian transport prosecutor’s office.

The signal system “Failure of navigation system” switched on while the airliner was making the Novosibirsk-Moscow flight. The system recovered 15 minutes later, but the crew commander decided to return to the take-off airport,” said senior assistant to the West-Siberian transport prosecutor Natalya Krinitskaya.

The plane smoothly landed at 10.39 local time. There were no injuries. The jetliner had aboard 130 passengers and seven crewmembers. The passengers are now waiting for a reserve plane.

The Novosibirsk transport prosecutor’s office now checks observing passengers’ rights. Deputy head of the regional transport prosecutor Roman Dering drove to the airport.
