CANNES, November 4 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia hopes to host a G20 summit in 2013, Russian Presidential Aide Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters on Friday.
“We expect a decision to hold a G20 summit in Russia in 2013,” he said.
Mexico will chair the G20 in 2012, he said. “Probably, the G20 chairs in 2014 and 2015 will be announced today,” he added.
It was decided in Cannes “that the so-called trio – the incumbent chair, the previous chair and the next chair – will coordinate the G20 activity,” Dvorkovich said.
Moscow may play host to a G20 summit in 2013, he said. Itar-Tass asked Dvorkovich whether Sochi might become the summit venue. “That is unlikely,” he said. “The G20 leaders will be invited to Moscow. We will hold [the event] where it is cheaper and we won’t have to build anything,” he said.
