YEKATERINBURG, November 4 (Itar-Tass) —— Traffic has been restored on the Yekaterinburg-Perm road where a railroad bridge tumbled down, a source at the Sverdlovsk regional emergency situations department told Itar-Tass on Friday.
“A crane with a lifting capacity of 850 tons removed bridge fragments from the road. All the other machines proved useless. The bridge fragments were cut into pieces and cleared away. The road is free now, and road signs are re-installed,” he said.
A dump truck carrying road metal hit the central support of the railroad bridge on the November 3 night, and bridge fragments fell over the road. Vehicles had to take the Pervouralsk bypass. The dump truck driver was injured. He will be charged with an administrative offense and pay a fine of 1,500 rubles. Besides, the road operator will sue the driver for compensation of the damage.
