MOSCOW, November 3 (Itar-Tass) —— Greece will remain within the euro area irrespective of the results of the referendum, Finance Minister Evangelos Vanizeloss said on Thursday.
“The Greek attitude to the euro area is a historical gain and cannot be called in question. It cannot depend on the referendum,” the Finance Ministry said in a statement.
In a national referendum due soon Greece is to answer the question about the new plan for assistance from the European Union. Earlier, Greek Prime Minister Georgios Papandreou said the voting might take place on December 4.
