MOSCOW, November 3 (Itar-Tass) — Former top member of the SOK group Andrei Frolov, wanted by Interpol on charges of deliberate bankruptcy of the IzhAvto car-maker, has been detained in the United Arab Emirates, the press service of the Interior Ministry’s investigation department told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
It was ascertained that in 2009-2009, Yuri Kachmazov, the owner of the SOK Group and its top managers Andrei Frolov and Yuri Amelin, as well as former IzhAvto director general Mikhail Dobyndo and director for economy and finance Yevgeny Strakhov withdrew 6.7 billion roubles of liquid assets from IzhAvto.
"A court initiated bankruptcy proceedings against the company as a result of their illegal actions.
"Frolov was detained in the United Arab Emirates. The Russian Interior Ministry has prepared the necessary materials for the UAE police for his extradition to Russia," the press service said.
The other defendants are on the Interpol wanted list.
The investigators have asked the citizens who know the whereabouts of Yuri Kachmazov, Yevgeny Strakhov and Yuri Amerlin, to call 8 (495) 667-32-34, 667-33-06, 667-33-51.
