MAKHACHKALA, November 2 (Itar-Tass) — Mayor or a village has been killed in the Khiv district of the North Caucasian region of Dagestan, a spokesman for the regional Investigations Committee told Itar-Tass.
“Several people sitting in a car opened submachine-gun fire at Mayor Salman Alayev at around 20:30 in the village of Chuvek,” the spokesman said. “He was standing inside the yard of his house at the moment.”
Alayev died of wounds on the spot.
While making a getaway from the site of crime, the attackers also opened fire on a car of the district policeman Sabir Sefirbekov, wounding him in the arm.
At the time of reporting, a team of investigators and operatives was working in Chuvek.
