BRUSSELS, November 2 (Itar-Tass) —— Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko urged the European Union to stick to the agreement on a free trade zone with Kiev reached earlier.
The text of her statement was circulated in Brussels on Wednesday, November 2.
“I ask you not to vote against ratification of the agreement,” Timoshenko said in her appeal. “My freedom must not become an obstacle to the realisation of Ukrainians’ European dream.”
The agreement calls for creating a free trade zone between 27 EU member states and Ukraine. However its ratification was put in jeopardy by Kiev’s court verdict that sentenced Timoshenko to seven years in prison.
