MOSCOW, November 1 (Itar-Tass) —— Total number of officially registered unemployed persons in Russia is estimated at 1.2 million, Russian Minister of Health and Social Development Tatiana Golikova said on Tuesday at the “Government Hour” session at the State Duma, lower house of Russia’s parliament. “The country’s total number of officially registered jobless persons amounts to 1.2 million,” the minister repeated, adding, “The unemployment rate equals to the index registered as of October 1, 2008 [before the beginning of the crisis]. The aforesaid indicator amounts to 1.7 percent of the able-bodied population.” Golikova pointed to the fact that “the labour market’s intensity factor now amounts to 1.0, as compared to 1.2 as it was in the pre-crisis period, in April 2008,”
