The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) and the Russian Defense Ministry have agreed on prices in state defense procurements

MOSCOW, November 1 (Itar-Tass) —— The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) and the Russian Defense Ministry have agreed on prices in state defense procurements; the deal will be concluded by the end of this week, a source at the Industry and Trade Ministry told Itar-Tass on Tuesday. “The prices are a compromise between the proposals of the USC and the Defense Ministry,” he said. “The sides met each other halfway. Contract terms are totally different now. Shipbuilders will have the right to choose their sub-contractors. The Defense Ministry did that in the past,” the source said. About 70% of the total contract price is spent on sub-contractors. The agreement was reached at a Tuesday meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin. A high-ranking source at the Military Industrial Commission said, in turn, “The contracts would be signed in the near future, probably, before the end of this week.”
