Ukraine president prepares government reshuffles

According to unconfirmed data, up to five cabinet ministers may be stripped of their posts, the Kiev-based Levy Bereg newspaper reported

KIEV, October 31 (Itar-Tass) — Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich prepares government reshuffles, the Kiev-based Levy Bereg newspaper reported on Monday.

“An expanded session of the Cabinet of Ministers with participation of the head of state and governors, will analyse the economic performance in the first nine months of the year, and Viktor Yanukovich will announce the sacking of several ministers and governors failing ‘to justify high confidence’,” the newspaper wrote referring to an informed source.

According to unconfirmed data, up to five cabinet ministers may be stripped of their posts. The Cabinet of Ministers with Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov at the head was formed on March 11, 2010, after Yanukovich had won the presidential election.

Two ministers - the healthcare minister and the minister for emergency situations, have been replaced over this period of time.
