Later in the day the mother of the planet’s seven billionth baby will be awarded a memorable certificate.
The announcement of the birth of the world’s seven billionth inhabitant is timed to coincide with the presentation of this year’s State of World Population report, People and Possibilities in a World of 7 Billion, that the United Nations Population Fund will make in Kaliningrad, the press service of the regional government told Itar-Tass.
“The Kaliningrad region was chosen as Russia’s territory to host the presentation of the UNFPA State of World Population report that will analyze the world’s problems and opportunities,” the press service said.
Moreover, Kaliningrad will also host a roundtable meeting entitled Russia from Edge to Edge: The Country’s Demographic Portrait. The event is co-organized by the United Nations Population Fund and the Russian federal state statistics service.
