House of Culture in flames in north-western Moscow

A total of 16 firefighting teams are working at the place of the accident

MOSCOW, October 29 (Itar-Tass) — A House of Culture (cultural centre) is burning in northwestern Moscow, Itar-Tass leant from press service head of the Moscow branch of the Ministry for Emergencies Yevgeny Bobylev.

According to the press centre chief, the fire erupted in the morning at a two-story building of the Oktyabr Club in the Malinovsky Street. An area of 1,000 metres are now in flames,” Bobylev said.

According to the spokesman, there were no people at the building, but a guard who left the club independently.

A total of 16 firefighting teams are working at the place of the accident.

According to the latest information from the place of fire, some structures partially caved in at the burning club.

“Structures over an area of 200 square metres toppled at the club’s conference hall,” Bobylev specified. According to the spokesman, firefighting is inefficient over the fact that propane cylinders can be in the building. “Firefighters are battling the flames, observing all precautionary security measures,” Bobylev noted.
