MOSCOW, October 28 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s cargo traffic will regain the pre-crisis level by the end of the year – beginning of 2012, Russian Minister of Transport Igor Levitin told a meeting of his counterparts from the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) on Friday.
“By the end of 2011, cargo traffic is expected to return to the pre-crisis level,” he stressed.
According to the minister, the major amount of cargo traffic accounts for railways and highway transport. “Their overall share in the Russia’s cargo traffic is 90 percent,” Levitin said.
He also pointed to a several facts in the sphere of marine transport demonstrating its returning to the pre-crisis indices, which “is estimated at 526 million tonnes.”
