MOSCOW, October 28 (Itar-Tass) — One person died and another four were injured in a fire that ripped through an apartment building in central Moscow, the Emergencies Ministry’s press service told Itar-Tass on Friday.
The woman who died is now being identified, a spokesman for the Emergencies Ministry’s Moscow city department, Yevgeny Bobylev, said. Three persons were poisoned with carbon monoxide, another one received fractures. All of them were hospitalized.
The fire began at a flat of a four-storey old building at Bolshoy Levshinsky Lane and spread over the territory of 70 square meters.
Twelve people were rescued safe from the building.
The fire was put out. Eight fire-fighting brigades were engaged in the operation. The investigation is underway.
