RF to provide USD 7 mln aid to Libya

This is the fourth portion of Russian humanitarian aid to Libya

MOSCOW, October 27 (Itar-Tass) — Russia will provide seven million U.S. dollar humanitarian aid to Libya, Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Thursday.

“In compliance with the Russian government’s resolution of October 1 we will provide seven million U.S. dollar humanitarian aid to Libya within international organisations,” Lukashevich said.

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry reported that the ministry’s plane delivered humanitarian aid to Libya. “The Il-76 plane made a landing at the airport of Tripoli at 14:13 p.m. Moscow time. It carries 36.2 tonnes of humanitarian cargoes – canned milk, baby food, sugar and rice,” an official of the ministry said.

This is the fourth portion of Russian humanitarian aid to Libya. In the beginning of July Russia delivered 72 tonnes of foodstuffs to Tripoli and Benghazi. Totally, Libya got over 144 tonnes of foodstuffs from Russia.
