KIEV, October 26 (Itar-Tass) —— NATO is ready to assist Ukraine in ensuring security during the UEFA Euro-2012 finals, Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy James Appathurai said.
He said the sides were involved in negotiations on this issue and if the Ukrainian government wishes, the alliance will share its technical capabilities and expertise in this field, he said on Wednesday, October 26.
He stressed, however, that NATO would not play a key role in ensuring security at the championship.
