MAKHACHKALA, October 26 (Itar-Tass) —— A bus with pilgrims from Russia’s Caucasian republic of Dagestan got into a traffic accident in Saudi Arabia. According to preliminary information, one person was killed and five were injured, two of them are in grave condition, a source in the Dagestan government told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
According to the source, on Wednesday the pilgrims arrived in Jordan by plane, from where they took a bus to get to Saudi Arabia to perform hajj.
“About 14:00 Moscow time, the bus with the pilgrims overturned some 150 kilometers away from Medinah. The accident is said to be caused by the bus driver who got asleep while driving,” the source said.
An investigation is underway.
