TOKYO, October 26 (Itar-Tass) — Towards the end of this year, Russia and China will hold one or two rounds of negotiations on matters concerning the supply of Russian natural gas to the People's Republic of China, Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Board, who attended a global forum on management, has told Itar-Tass. The forum was organized here by Japan's leading business newspaper Nikkei.
"The negotiations on the deliveries of gas are entering a concluding stage, which was stated as a result of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's recent visit to China. Towards the yearend we intend to hold one or two more rounds of negotiations with our Chinese partners," Alexander Medvedev pointed out.
Russian Vice-Premier Igor Sechin said earlier that in the near future Russia and China intend to specify a negotiating roadmap which will include an analysis of the balance of consumption, sources of supply, and the place of Gazprom in this pattern of gas deliveries.
