Russia’s Foreign Ministry has finalized measures for organizing events within the framework of Russia’s presidency of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in 2012

MOSCOW, October 25 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s Foreign Ministry has finalized measures for organizing events within the framework of Russia’s presidency of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in 2012, a source in the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

“The fulfilment of this responsible mission is an important component of efforts towards implementing the task set by the Russian president to promote our country’s positions in the Asia-Pacific Region,” the source said after a meeting of the Ministry’s collegium.

“Stronger cooperation with APEC will contribute to the creation of favourable trade, economic and investment environment for translating into reality plans for Russia’s modernization and innovative development as well as economic growth of Siberia and the Far East,” the source said.
