Unreturned foreign exchange earnings in Russia exceed RBU 78 bln in Jan-Sep

Customs bodies opened 4,918 administrative offence cases and 211 criminal cases

MOSCOW, October 24 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s customs bodies opened more than 3,600 criminal cases in the first nine months of this year, an increase of 12.5 percent from the same period of last year, the Federal Customs Service said on Monday, October 24.

The combined value of goods and vehicles involved in the crimes committed in January-September of this year exceeded 16 billion roubles, more than 78 billion roubles were not returned to the budget as foreign exchange earnings, and over 523 million roubles worth of customs payments were not made.
