MOSCOW, October 24 (Itar-Tass) — The 11TH forum of young writers of Russia, the CIS and foreign countries is opening at the holiday hotel “Lipki” near Moscow on Monday.

As president of the Fund of Socio-Economic and Intellectual Programmes Sergei Filatov told ITAR-TASS, “this year a kind of a record was set - - more than 500 applications from writers of Russia and 21 applications from foreign countries were sent to the organizing committee.” “At the same time, about 200 writers got the highest marks of reviewers who just insisted on inviting the men of letters to the forum,” he said.

As a result, 175 writers from 63 regions of Russia and 11 writers from CIS and foreign countries will participate in the forum. They will represent all genres - - prose, poetry, the drama, children’s literature and literary translation.

According to Filatov, the holding of the forum with support of the Federal Press and Mass Communications Agency will cost 4.5 million roubles.

Over 10 years of the existence of these creative meetings, more than 2,000 young writers took part in them. As of this year, the fund comes out as a publisher, that’s why the best of the best may be included in the collection. “We send catalogues with the most talented works to the biggest publishing houses and libraries of Russia,” he added.
