PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, October 22 (Itar-Tass) — The All-Russian Popular Front permitted the United Russia Party to form “a very interesting list” of candidates, that will start the election race. This opinion was expressed by Boris Gryzlov in an interview with the “News on Saturday” programme of the Rossia-1 TV channel, broadcast on Saturday to Far Eastern region.
“We have carried nation-wide preliminary voting, involving 4,800 people, that is eight people for one seat in the list of 600,” noted the State Duma speaker and chairman of the Supreme Council of the United Russia Party.
Speaking on the question of renovation of not only the party’s election list, but also the Duma faction of United Russia, Gryzlov noted that the faction includes 315 deputies; election lists “include 172 present deputies. It is clear that the faction will be renewed by nearly one half”.
Gryzlov noted that United Russia puts forth “utmost tasks” at the elections. “We hope for support of our voters, because we have something to show, since our election race is based on a report on real achievements we did over the past four years, and we have something to say and to show voters that we did not mark time,” he said.
“As for the quality of the list, there are representatives there of the All-Russian Popular Front (ONF) in great numbers: 182 candidates are non-party men – nearly a third of the entire list. There will be ONF representatives in our faction. This is for sure, since the first three names in each regional list include one ONF representative. The first three will win seats at the State Duma for sure,” Gryzlov underlined.
