Jurors pass guilty verdict on killer of Spartak Moskva club fan

The panel established that Cherkesov and his friends had purposefully selected the group for an attack

MOSCOW, October 20 (Itar-Tass) – A jury panel formed by the Moscow City Court to pass a verdict on the man, who killed a fan of the Spartak Moskva club at the end of last yet, has passed a resolution saying the killer, Alan Cherkesov, is guilty and does not deserve clemency when the length of a jail term for him is considered.

The jurors’ verdict says Cherkesov acted in coordination with other defendants – Akayev, Arsibiyev, Ibragimov, Utarbiyev, and Ismailov –when he saw his victim, Yegor Sviridov and his friends at a bus stop in northwest Moscow December 6 last year.

The panel established that Cherkesov and his friends had purposefully selected the group for an attack.

He participated in the smiting of the young people, for the purpose of which he used a glass bottle and a non-lethal gun.

The panel’s resolution says that Chekresov made no less than two shots at his victims, Filatov and Sviridov.

He shot Sviridov pointblank in the head and then shot him in the stomach from a distance of less than a meter.

Cherkesov effectuated his act putting himself into an opposition to the people around him and showing his contempt for them.

To kick off the incident, he used a trifling pretext – a phrase uttered by the fan Petochenko.
