Female police officer detained on drug dealing charges in Moscow suburb

Two women, one of them a police officer, were detained on suspicion of drug dealing in the town of Zelenograd near Moscow

MOSCOW, October 20 (Itar-Tass) — Two women, one of them a police officer, were detained on suspicion of drug dealing in the town of Zelenograd near Moscow, a spokesman for the Moscow police department of the Russian interior ministry told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

According to the spokesman, the women were detained on Wednesday in a Zelenograd apartment while trying to sell 0.7 grams of heroin. “One of the women, a thirty-year-old police lieutenant, served in a district police department. The search of her apartment yielded 3.5 grams of heroin,” the spokesman said.

A criminal case was opened. An investigation is underway.
