Interfax office in Moscow on fire

Interfax personnel said all their colleagues had been evacuated

MOSCOW, October 19 (Itar-Tass) — A fire broke out at the Interfax building in central Moscow. The nidus is on the roof of the four-storey house in 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street, house 2. "They are evacuating people from the building," a source told Itar-Tass.

"There is heavy smoke inside the building which accommodates Interfax and several cafes and restaurants," the source said.

Interfax personnel said all their colleagues had been evacuated. No casualties have been reporters.

Emergency Situations Ministry spokesman Yevgeny Bobylyov said roofing felt was on fire. Open fire has been knocked out, Bobylyov said.
