Man found dead at household gas blast site in Bronnitsy

Three people are still missing

MOSCOW, October 18 (Itar-Tass) —— A man was found dead at the gas blast site in an apartment block in the Moscow regional town of Bronnitsy, a source in the law enforcement agencies told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

“In the debris cleanup emergency workers have found a man dead. Thus, three people are still missing,” the source said

He noted that the search operation continues. “The rescuers are removing the debris in the search for other casualties,” the source underlined.

The household gas blast on the fourth floor triggered a fire at 3.45 p.m. Moscow time on Monday in the first entrance of a five-storey residential house at 42, Moskvoretskaya Street. The gas blast destroyed the floor framing at an entrance between the third and fourth floors and the house walls between the fourth and fifth floors.

Three people were injured in the gas blast and one of them was hospitalized, the Emergency Situation Ministry reported.

Some 169 people lived in the apartment block. People were accommodated at their relatives and acquaintances or at accommodation facilities.
