ULAN UDE, October 18 (Itar-Tass) —— The deputy chief of correctional colony No 7 in the settlement of Olovyannaya in the Transbaikal Territory was detained red handed when he was trying to carry drugs to the colony.

“Thirteen polymeric packages with more than 200 grams of hashish oil were confiscated from the lieutenant-colonel of the interior service which he was carrying to the colony in two bags of construction mixture,” ITAR-TASS learnt at the press service of the Federal Drug Control Department (FSIN) for the Transbaikal Territory.

The operation was conducted by officers of the operational department of the colony jointly with drug policemen. The lieutenant-colonel explains the incident by the fact that he “illegally received two bags of construction mixture from relatives of a convict for giving them to the prisoner.”

“The FSIN department began a service check, the result of which will be submitted to the Investigation Committee for adopting a legal decision,” a representative of the press service said.
