Medvedev comes to Election Com for United Russia list registration

The president heads the United Russia list. Only his name is in its federal part

MOSCOW, October 18 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has come to the Russian Central Election Commission building, Bolshoi Cherkassky Pereulok, Moscow, to be present during the registration of the list of candidates of the United Russia party for the State Duma elections.

Fifteen commission members gathered for the board meeting. They spoke out over the registration of the list. Other commission officials and some United Russia members were also present.

The president heads the United Russia list. Only his name is in its federal part. The total number of candidates on the list is 597 in 80 regional groups.

The State Duma elections will be held on December 4.
