Nine people, including five children, killed in house fire in Krasnoyarsk Krai

KRASNOYARSK, October 17 (Itar-Tass) — Nine people, including five children, were killed on the night to Monday in a dwelling house fire in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, spokesman for the regional emergencies department Alexander Yakimov told Itar-Tass.

According to him, the alarm call about a fire in the house situated in the Nizhnyaya Poima settlement of the Nizhneingashsky district was made by eyewitnesses at 00:51, local time (20:51 MSK). A family of two adults and five children lives in the house. Another two people were their guests.

“At the time of the arrival of fire fighters the living quarters and outbuildings were fully ablaze at an area of ·· 180 square metres. It took several hours to extinguish the fire. During the debris clearing rescuers found the remains of nine people - four adults and five children,” Yakimov specified.

According to the emergencies press service, “the fire victims were asleep” and the fire caused such tragic consequences because it was noticed too late.

The investigation is underway.
