Local residents, Anji football fans clash in Nazran outskirts

Local residents and the fans of the football club Anji Makhachkala engaged in a brawl at about 7 p.m.

NAZRAN, October 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Local residents and the fans of the football club Anji Makhachkala engaged in a brawl at about 7 p.m. Moscow time on the federal highway Caucasus near Gazi-Yurt in the outskirts of Nazran in Ingushetia. The football fans were on the way back from a match between Spartak Nalchik and Anji Makhachkala that ended in a 1-1 draw in Nalchik on Sunday.

The Ingush law enforcement agencies reported that a road accident triggered the brawl. A car with the Anji fans inside collided with a car of a local resident. The quarrel flared up that grew into a massive fistfight. Several people were hospitalized as a result of the brawl.

The incident was already settled, Ingush Deputy Interior Minister Valentin Ivanov told Itar-Tass. The Anji fans and local residents have no claims to each other. The fans already went home.
