Bird in engine triggers emergency landing of Russian plane An-148

The passengers are waiting for another flight. The airplane is undergoing maintenance

SIMFEROPOL, October 16 (Itar-Tass) —— A bird getting in the left engine triggered an emergency landing of an airplane An-148 belonging to the air company Rossiya at the Simferopol airport, the press service of the Crimean main emergency department reported on Sunday.

The detectives found out that ten minutes after the takeoff a bird got in the turbine. The An-148 crew of five people made an emergency landing with one operating right engine. The landing was successful on the main runway at the Tsentralny airport, the press service said.

The airplane was carrying 68 passengers. No people were injured in the emergency landing. The passengers are waiting for another flight. The airplane is undergoing maintenance.
