The biggest nugget found over the whole history of gold mining in the Far East

KHABAROVSK, October 14 (Itar-Tass) — Gold-diggers of the artel Vostok in the Khabarovsk Territory have found a unique gold nugget weighing 7,600 grams, deputy chief engineer of the enterprise Sergei Safonov told ITAR-TASS on Friday.

According to him, it is “the biggest nugget found over the whole history of gold mining in the Far East.” The finding was an excellent present for the artel’s gold-diggers who mark the 40th anniversary of the enterprise this year.

“The nugget will be added to the collection of the Russian Diamond Fund,” Safonov said.

The cost of the finding is estimated at the sum of over 12 million roubles.
