MOSCOW, October 13 (Itar-Tass) — Documents on new gas supply and transit contracts with Belarus will be ready for signing in November, CEO of Russia’s national gas utility Gazprom Alexei Millar said on Thursday after a meeting with Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Rumas.
According to Miller, the work on new contracts with Belarus “is proceeding ahead of schedule.”
“Negotiations with our Belarusian friends are proceeding in an intensive pace and in the right course. There are just a few outstanding issues, and none of them is of vital nature,” Miller said. “One can be absolutely positive that final agreements are the matter of the nearest future. I am confident that we will be ready to sign all relevant documents already in November.”
According to the Gazprom press service, Millar and Rumas discussed details of the new contract based on a draft agreement on the purchase of 50 percent of shares in Beltransgaz. The sides noted “a high degree of mutual understanding within the framework of the negotiating process, which makes it possible to square all the documents as scheduled,” the press service said.
