KHABAROVSK, October 13 (Itar-Tass) — More than 20 thousand residents of the Gorky settlement have been left without water supply due to a breakdown at the Khabarovsk water line, the press service of the Russia Emergency Situations Ministry’s (EMERCOM) main department for the Khabarovsk Territory told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
“More than 10 social facilities - a branch of the law academy, the municipal policlinic, nurseries, a special home for the veterans, secondary schools, a shipbuilding college, a boarding school and retirement home for elderly people with disabilities were also cut from the water supply,” the EMERCOM department said. “The total number of people in the water supply disruption zone is 21,125, including 3,505 children,” the department noted.
It also said that water supply by water tank trucks has been organised in the area affected by the water line emergency. The water supply in tanks will be carried out during the day until the emergency is coped with. It is planned to repair the water supply line by the evening.
