Fire at 14-storey business centre in Moscow eastern suburb put out

MOSCOW, October 12 (Itar-Tass) —— Fire at a 14-storey business centre in Moscow’s eastern suburb has been extinguished, a spokesman for the city emergencies administration told Itar-Tass.

“The fire was put out at 15:41 Moscow time. The fire area was 50 square meters. No one was hurt,” the spokesman said.

The fire at the building of the business centre in Zeleny Avenue, which houses the administration of the Novogireyevo district among others, was reported at 14:17 Moscow time. It was assigned the second degree of complexity. The building was cut off electricity supplies.

“A total of 490 people were evacuated from the building, several persons were rescued from the upper floor and the elevator,” police said.

An investigation is underway.
