PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, October 12 (Itar-Tass) —— Brazen flames on board the Kokand refrigerator moored at Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky sea port have been extinguished. There were no casualties, the press service of the head department for Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

The news about the fire on board the ship fastened at moorage 2 came at 5. 00 p.m. local time. The fire began in a fish block of the ship, where transportation lines and electric cables caught fire. The flames spread to around 30 square meters.

Rescuers evacuated five people from board. The ship belongs to "Natsrybresurs" (national fish resource) federal enterprise.

There is no threat to other ships moored nearby. Fire- fighting operations are being completed. The causes of the fire are being clarified.
