Medvedev congratulates soccer players on qualifying match win

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has made an entry in his microblog in the Twitter social network

MOSCOW, October 12 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has made an entry in his microblog in the Twitter social network, congratulating the national soccer team on their qualifying for the finals of the 2012 European soccer championship.

Medvedev wrote, "We have reached the finals! We are yet to play against more serious competitors".

Russia won a match against Andorra, 6-0, played at the Luzhniki stadium on Tuesday night in the conlcuding, the 10th, series of the qualifying stage of the European championship.

Scorers for the Russian side were as follows: halfback Alan Dzagoyev ( in the 5th and 44th minutes), back Sergei Ignashevich (26th min), forward Roman Pavlyuchenko, halfback Denis Glushakov (59th min),and Diniyar Bilyaletdinov (in the 78th minute).
