MOSCOW, October 11 (Itar-Tass) — President Dmitry Medvedev suggested introducing criminal responsibility for the persons who provide their documents to set up fly-by-night firms.
"I believe that this [offering one's document] can become a subject of criminal and procedural and criminal and legal analysis," the president said during a video link which addressed the implementation of the head of state's instructions.
Medvedev asked First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov about the government's position on the issue.
"We share this position. We've already received this kind of instructions from you; and criminal responsibility for such persons will be introduced and toughened," Shuvalov replied.
"Let's do it. We've been discussing this theme for the past six months. What problems are you having? Where are these bills?" the president asked.
Shuvalov said he would report to the president on the issue on Wednesday.
