KIEV, October 11 (Itar-Tass) —— Ex-Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko “inflicted by her actions the damage on Naftogaz Ukrainy Company, which amounted to 1.5 billion grivnas (some 188 million dollars),” says the verdict pronounced at the Timoshenko trial by Justice Rodion Kireyev. He stressed that “the gas price was incommensurable with the agreements reached before.”

The verdict, pronounced hastily, is a verdict of guilty, as was to be expected. Ms. Timoshenko is listening to it, seated at the table beside her husband and daughter, while her lawyers and prosecutors are standing. Members of parliament from the Timoshenko Bloc were not allowed to attend the court session. A rally of supporters and opponents of Timoshenko is going on outside the court building.
