Kremlin aide says he will work in Medvedev govt if ruling party wins elections

Russian presidential aide Arkady Dvorkovich said if offered a post in the future Medvedev government, he would accept it if the ruling party wins the elections

MOSCOW, October 10 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian presidential aide Arkady Dvorkovich said if offered a post in the future Medvedev government, he would accept it if the ruling party wins the elections.

Commenting on his remarks made in an interview with U.S. journalist Larry King, Dvorkovich denied he had said he “hopes to work in government”.

“I said it in English, and if translated, it was that I hope that if there is a probability that I get an offer, I would accept it,” the aide said.

“I did not tell Larry King even half of what has been ascribed to me,” he added.

When asked if he has received any offers to work in the future government, Dvorkovich said, “The president still has seven more months to go. So what offers?”

Commenting on possible changes in the government, he said, “We have seven more months to work in the present configuration, and I think it would be incorrect to discuss any changes for the time being.”
