MOSCOW, October 10 (Itar-Tass) —— Stabilisation in Libya in the near future will proceed under the U.N. auspices, chief of the Russian Army General Staff, General of the Army Nikolai Makarov said.
He met with Admiral James Stavridis, NATO's Supreme Allied
Commander Europe (SACEUR), on Monday, October 10.
“Admiral Stavridis explained very clearly the essence of the operation [in Libya] and what further actions the alliance plans to take there. As far as I understand, everything that is happening there now will be taken over by the United Nations shortly, and reconstruction will proceed there under its aegis,” Makarov said.
