YEKATERINBURG, October 10 (Itar-Tass) — The health of children hospitalized with food poisoning in the Sverdlovsk region raises no concern, the press service of the region’s health ministry told Itar-Tass on Monday.
“There are no serious patients. The children’s health registers clear positive dynamics. Lab tests demonstrated that the outburst of the acute intestinal infection in the kindergarten was caused by Sonne dysentery,” the source said.
At present, among those infected are 79 children from the kindergarten in the town of Nevyansk. Fifty children remain in hospitals of Yekaterinburg, five – in Nevyansk and another 24 receive out-patient services.
The incident was registered on October 6.
According to a preliminary version, low-quality products caused mass food poisoning.
A criminal case was instituted.
