ULAN-UDE, October 9 (Itar-Tass) —— The crew and passengers of EMERCOM’s helicopter, which had made emergency landing, were delivered to Chita, press service of the regional branch of Russia’s EMERCOM reported on Sunday.
“A Mi-8 of Russia’s EMERCOM delivered to Chita the crew and passengers of the helicopter, which had made an emergency landing earlier near the Altan village,” the source said.
Three crew members and four passengers “feel well.”
Mi-8, which was involved in identification and extinguishing of wildfires in Transbaikalia, disappeared from radar screens on Sunday at 12:45 Moscow time. After the helicopter crew stopped to communicate, there were several signals from Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB). Already at 17:09 Moscow time, the helicopter was located.
“It made an emergency landing,” the source said.
